I used to only work in pencil, because it could be erased. I used to be afraid to add color, because what if I mess it up? I used to paint on cardboard because I was afraid to waste a canvas, what if what I painted was no good? Why play it all so safe? The only way to get better is to really GO for it.

So in 2022, I began my daily doodles, pen on a paper in a “junk” notebook, no erasers, no undo button. And damn if I didn’t get so much better. I worked with my mistakes and made something even better than it might have been otherwise. It was ok if it wasn’t perfect because the point was just that I created something each and every day. From here came more poignant paintings.
